In this online needle felting workshop, Kimberly will teach you how to sculpt the perfect crescent moon using an innovative armature, with a detailed and expressive sleeping face, layered hues and fantastic craters.

Kimberly Czar

Kimberly discovered her love for art as a child, and studied art throughout her education. Inspired by her art teachers, Harold Peterson and Patrick Eddington, Kimberly got involved in summer art workshops, and went on to study Graphic Design and Illustration at the University of Utah. While in college, Kimberly attended the Pratt Institute in Venice, Italy for a semester, where she studied art history, painting, illustration, print-making, and Venetian art techniques.

Kimberly began felting in 2011, and primarily needle felts 3D sculptures and figurines. She enjoys creating festive and holiday themed felt sculptures, incorporating a fun sense of humor into her unique figurines. Kimberly loves to include natural elements in her felt sculptures, and gives timeless expressions, details, and backstories to her creations.

Irina Egorova is a felt artist and teacher, who creates beautiful miniature animal sculptures from colored wool using the dry felting technique, and blends additional methods of art into her fantastic felt creations!

She lives in St. Petersburg, Russia, with her friendly family – her husband (Technical Support), twins Katyusha and Andryushka, and twins Kitty the Cat (Advertising Director) and Juicy the Dog (Quality Content Director).

Irina is a zoologist by education, and uses her background in biology to fulfill her creativity as a full-time artist and teacher. Her favorite characters are insects, but all of her creatures have their own tales and personalities.

All of Irina’s fun felted critters all have one thing in common – irony and good humor, and this is exactly what is so in demand in today’s world and what she really enjoys expressing through her felt art.

Glued Felt is a course that will enable you to create a flexible wool fabric that is thin, durable and holds its shape. You can use this technique immediately to create simple in wings for insects and animals, tiny ears in a variety of shapes and thicknesses, flowers, leaves, small clothes and more!

Laura Ricks is from Lafayette, Indiana. She has been working with felting and fiber arts since 2017.

She particularly enjoys creating felted landscapes, which feature spectacular skies and clouds, beautiful natural scenery, and picture-perfect depth and perspective. She often draws inspiration from her rural Indiana surroundings and her travels, with the ability to turn photos into felted masterpieces.

Patti Barker

Patti Barker is an award-winning felt wear designer who has been felting since 2008. Her passion lies in created felted ensembles for the stage, and telling a story with her unique wearable creations. She often incorporates themes highlighting female empowerment that evoke emotion and energy in her art. Patti is constantly experimenting with new felting techniques, with many of her designs resulting from asking herself “what happens if I try this?”

Having first discovered felting at a fiber arts retreat at an alpaca farm in the Northern Georgia Mountains, Patti immediately fell in love with the wide world of felting. With a background in weaving, macramé, and making paper jewelry, along with her parent’s creative careers, Patti has always had a creative eye. She returned to college and earned a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Studio Art from Western Washington University, and enjoys both learning new felting techniques, and sharing the joy of felting with her students. She enjoys taking on new challenges and pioneering new approaches to wearable felt-making that inspire and enhance narrative story-telling through her art.

Natasha Smart

Natasha Smart is a full-time felting artist and educator who has been wet felting since 2005.  She specializes in the felting on a ball resist technique to create felted bags, baskets and bowls, which she regularly teaches on workshops at her studio in the seaside town of Exmouth, Devon on the UK south coast.  

Natasha loves experimenting with wet felting techniques and materials to develop new projects, which has led her to create several online courses and tutorials on wet felting.  She has also written over 25 magazine project articles covering felting and textile craft, including for the International Feltmakers Association (IFA) magazine Felt Matters in September 2022.  Her first book, Wet Felting, which covers all aspects of wet felting, from flat felting to working with both two and three-dimensional resists, was published in April 2022. Her second book, Three-dimensional Wet Felting, was published in May 2024 and focuses in depth on felting on a ball.  It covers all the techniques you need for successful results, along with a range of inspiring projects to create yourself.

Sharing the magic of wet felting has become a real passion for Natasha and she regularly shares videos and photos of her workshops and wet felted pieces on her social media accounts, where you can find more inspiration for your own creations.
