Felted Works by Patti Barker:

Patti Barker

Patti Barker is an award-winning felt wear designer who has been felting since 2008. Her passion lies in created felted ensembles for the stage, and telling a story with her unique wearable creations. She often incorporates themes highlighting female empowerment that evoke emotion and energy in her art. Patti is constantly experimenting with new felting techniques, with many of her designs resulting from asking herself “what happens if I try this?”

Having first discovered felting at a fiber arts retreat at an alpaca farm in the Northern Georgia Mountains, Patti immediately fell in love with the wide world of felting. With a background in weaving, macramé, and making paper jewelry, along with her parent’s creative careers, Patti has always had a creative eye. She returned to college and earned a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Studio Art from Western Washington University, and enjoys both learning new felting techniques, and sharing the joy of felting with her students. She enjoys taking on new challenges and pioneering new approaches to wearable felt-making that inspire and enhance narrative story-telling through her art.

Her work is on display at the MaJe Gallery in Edmonds, Washington, and in the Orchard Gallery in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Her online gallery can be found at PattiBarker.com, or to follow her on social media, visit her Instagram @PattiBarkerFelt or her Facebook page.
